BIODIVERSITY WORKSHOPS
The
ACP
was
awarded a grant in 2007 by the New York State Biodiversity
Research Institute to fund the development of curriculum materials
related to biodiversity. A workshop was held in 2007 and a second one
in 2008.
Teachers were
invited to attend these FREE summer
workshop with meals
and lodging provided, with the opportunity to create materials to use
in their own classroom that address the topic of
biodiversity and meet NYS Educational Standards. A stipend is
provided upon completion of the project. Workshops were held at
Huntington Lodge at the Adirondack Ecological Center in Newcomb.
12 teachers from all over New York State attended the Aug. 4-6,
2008 workshop and created the challenges below. They are to be field
tested in the classroom and examples of student projects will be posted
online when they are completed. Check back later to see the results.
