Investigative Question or Issue:

How does the author use the Adirondack setting to enhance his/her novel?
Challenge:
 

Use process writing to produce a five page literary, critical essay that analyzes the novel you have selected for effects of the setting.

Choose a novel in which a majority of the action takes place in the Adirondacks.

A peer who has read your novel but not thought about the setting is your audience.

You will be given minimal class time to read and write. Please plan to work outside of class.

Final copy due in four weeks.

Quality Standards:
 

Evidence of process writing (draft, revised copy, editor’s copy, final copy turned in)

Text quoted using MLA format

Minimal five pages types 10-12 point font, 1 inch margins

Includes clear thesis statement

Grade level, process writing qualities in: meaning, development, language use, organization, conventions
