Students and teachers, from 4 school districts converged
at the
Wild Center, in Tupper
Lake, to demonstrate and share their Adirondack projects with each
other. Participating schools: Tupper Lake, Newcomb, Indian Lake and
Potsdam.
The teachers had all created "Adirondack Challenges" - student
centered, activity-based lesson plans that focus on both New York State
Standards and learning about the Adirondacks.
Projects included original poetry inspired by Adirondack art, a
presentation about Adirondack animals, a reader's theatre presentation,
a display about Adironack habitats, artwork created out of leaves, and
more. Students learned from each other!
