Investigative Question or Issue: How to collect and analyze data to create a sustainable management plan for an Adirondack forest?

Challenge:  
1. Set-up challenge groups with 4 or 5 students per group
2. Create PowerPoint presentation incorporating data from the 4 individual assessments with manage-ment plan recommendations. Plan has the following components:
a. identify current status of each of the 4 areas;
b. identify management plan for each of the 4 areas
c. give the impact of the plan on each of the 4 areas
d. predict what a control plot might look like at different points in the future

Quality Standards:  

Individual field journal to include procedure, field data, as well as related assignments.
PowerPoint presentation rubric including peer review
